Through our Veterans to Veterans Volunteer Program, Veterans can support other Veterans who are terminally ill. No one understands the questions and concerns of a U.S. Military Veteran more than a fellow Veteran and your sharing of stories will help to promote life-review and healing

Heartland Hospice Volunteers bring the gift of friendship to terminally ill patients. Volunteers offer companionship, lend an ear, share experiences & stories, hold a hand, give a needed hug, and offer words of comfort. Volunteer hours are flexible and opportunities are scheduled according to personality/needs of patient and volunteer, location and availability.

Requirements: Must be 18 years or older; agree to a background/reference check; and attend an orientation to learn more about the philosophy of hospice and our company, the role of the volunteer and communicating with hospice patients and their families.. Travel is required for this volunteer opportunity, so volunteers must have some form of reliable transportation.
