CASA is committed to the protection and healing of abused and neglected children who have been placed in foster care and referred to us by the courts. The CASA program trains everyday citizens to become volunteer Guardian's ad Litem, or a GAL. The GAL becomes an officer of the court and it is their job to advocate for the best interest of the child during the child protection case. The Guardian ad Litem is often the ONLY consistent person for the child during their time in foster care and can make a huge impact on the child's wellbeing.
Judges in ADA County rely heavily on the information provided by Guardians when making critical decisions for children in foster care.

Mission Statement
"Family Advocates works to strengthen families and keep kids safe by empowering everyday people to enrich the lives of youth." We are a private, independent 501 (c)(3) non-profit agency founded in 1978 and serve the fourth district of Idaho. This year, Family Advocates will provide a voice in court for over 1,100 children while providing family strengthening supports to nearly 1,200 additional family members. Our reach would not be possible without the support of our dedicated volunteers.
Description
Family Advocates trains and deploys over 500 volunteers each year to fulfill the demand of our child abuse and neglect prevention & intervention efforts throughout the 4th Judicial District of Idaho. Our CASA volunteers show us bravery by investigating child abuse, neglect, and abandonment and then advocating for those children in court to make sure the child’s voice is heard. Our Family Strengthening volunteers show us bravery by working with families to create strong networks and healthy habits through classes, activities, and more. Please visit our website for details about each program!
