The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. Volunteer to teach basic cooking skills and nutrition knowledge to others. Help those in your community learn how to plan, shop, and prepare healthy, delicious meals!
Culinary and nutrition volunteers will co-teach a 6 week course. Classes are hosted Tuesday-Thursday at varying times and locations throughout Kentuckiana. All curricula, nutrition materials, kitchen supplies and groceries provided. Recommended culinary and nutrition background, but Dare to Care will train those that are eager to learn how to teach others!
Would be a perfect volunteer option for college students and up!
