In many business, professional, social, friendly or intimate settings, when we communicate with people from different demographics, it can sometimes feel challenging.

It is often through free and open discussions between people of different groups, where solutions to the many problems facing societies can be found. The Hedonisia approach emphasizes free speech and empowerment rather than a victim-based approach to equality when dealing with issues such as education, sexuality, economics and violence.

These workshops are designed for individuals, small groups, companies or organizations. They teach simple tools for communication that allow people of different races, cultures, genders, identities and ages to communicate with the maximum of free speech combined with personal politeness for individual sensitivities.

The ideas and theories in the book and workshop are evolving and need editing, updates, additional research and rewrites.

Google Commenter. As an editor, you can use the Commenter feature to suggest edits, add research, or make rewrites.

Trigger Warning: If you have strong sensitivities in discussions concerning stereotypes, criticism, humor, and ignorance, please be aware. We are looking for volunteers who support free and open discussion about issues that can often feel divisive in today's America and worldwide.

  1. Hedonisia Diversity & Free Speech Workshop. We currently conduct this workshop online and are doing research to develop the content into a video course.
  2. Talking Sh*t: Free Speech, Culture & Satire in a Sensitive World. This is the book project we are writing based partly on material we use in the workshop.

Mission Statement

Hedonisia EcoFeminist Community: Our community is based on the principle of 'pleasurable activism', we try to do our bit to 'save the world' but we also try to enjoy ourselves at the same time. It is the reason we call our community 'Hedonisia'! We have fun in paradise but are not blind to the world's problems. We manage and work on our portfolio of Activist, EcoFeminist and EcoSex projects. You can see the Hedonisia Web Portfolio at: hedonisia.com

Description

Hedonisia Hawaii EcoFeminist Community was started in 2004 in the Hawaiian rainforest. Our community was based on ecofeminism and ecotourism as our social and economic foundations.

We are idealist but also pragmatic. Through our philosophy of activist and feminist enterprise, we seek business solutions to various problems in the world.

Though our community is small, the projects we work on have a global reach. One of our feminist web projects provides women around the world with information on reproductive choice. It has been accessed by over one million women over the past decade and, as reported by women themselves, saved many lives by giving them access to reproductive choice.

In 2018 the Hedonisia Hawaii Community was destroyed by lava flow from the Kilauea Volcanic eruption. We temporarily relocated to Portland OR where we continue work on our web projects.

We have a crowdfund campaign to rebuild our community in Hawaii: GoFundMe/SaveHedonisia

We are preparing to return. See hedonisiahawaii.com for more details.

We welcome you to be part of our Community Rebirth!

Aloha.
