ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - Texas Gulf Coast Region

PLACEMENT PURPOSE
Disaster Health Services Responders provide disaster health care by meeting the disaster related health needs of clients and providing support to other volunteers.

OPEN TIME DAYS

Approximately 6-8 hours per month depending on number of active disasters in territory.｠

Hours vary depending on meetings, trainings, and/or responses at the local chapter.

  • Disaster Cycle Services: An Overview (Online)
  • Health Service Fundamentals 1 & 2 (Online)
  • Psychological First Aid
  • CPR/AED
  • Casework and Recovery Planning Fundamentals (Online)
  • CAS: Overview video
  • CAS: Creating a case video
  • CAS: Recovery Planninig video
  • Shelter Fundamentals (Online/Recommended)
  • Disaster Action Team Fundamentals (Recommended)
