Volunteer training classes may be virtual, in-person, or a mix depending on the individual need.
For volunteers who plan to visit patients, some facilities are beginning to welcome volunteers again.
Please call us to learn about specific roles and the safety precautions that are being made.
AseraCare Hospice seeks caring, compassionate individuals to spend an average of 1-2 hours per week visiting our terminally ill patients and their families. Volunteers spend sacred time together with patients and families by simply accompanying them during their final journey. Companions offer patients a calming presence, deep compassion, and generous listening. Volunteers play an important role in providing social support and decreasing isolation that can often occur for the terminally ill. DURING THIS COVID CRISIS, WINDOW VISITS, CARDS AND PHONE CALLS CAN BE DONE
Volunteers are provided free training and TB test and can work flexible hours that suit their individual schedules.
