PLACEMENT PURPOSE
Disaster Responders meet the challenges locally and nationally to deliver the American Red Cross mission by alleviating human suffering.in the face of emergencies.
OPEN TIME DAYS
Flexible.
Locally disaster responders may commit to shifts during a disaster based on their availability.
National disaster responders may commit to two week deployments based on their availability.
To maintain active status one must participate a minimum average of two hours per month or 24 hours per year.
REQUIRED TRAININGRed Cross orientation
Disaster Services:? An Overview
Required training for the activity of interest.? Training occurs in advance of a disaster relief operation and can range from 10 hours to 30 hours dependent on responders choosen volunteer path.
Training can be in a classroom or online.? There is no charge for training.
Drills and exercises where appropriate.

Whether itﾒs one displaced family, thousands of disaster victims, or providing care and comfort to an ill or injured service member or veteran or support to a military family member, our vital work is made possible by people like you. It is through the time and care of ordinary people that we can do extraordinary things.
Due to COVID-19, we at the American Red Cross are delivering our mission a bit differently these days. Nearly all of our work is being done virtually when possible. After you complete the volunteer application at RedCross.org/Volunteer, a regional representative will reach out to speak to you about specific opportunities in your area and how you can help.
