ORGANIZATION: Memorial Assistance Ministries

MAM is looking for volunteers to teach a Citizenship or Citizenship/ESL class this summer! Teaching experience of any kind is preferred but not required. You do not have to be bilingual to teach the class and must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

MAM's Citizenship classes help students to prepare for the Citizenship interview and test in order to become US Citizens! We have two classes to choose from: The first class is the "Ready for the Interview" class which helps the students prepare for the interview and learn the 100 civic questions. The second is an English/Civics class which helps students not only to prepare for the 100 civic questions but also helps them with reading, writing, listening and speaking English at the same time.

The "Ready for Interview" class has one position open which is a Monday evening class from 6:30-9pm. The English/Civics class has an opening on a Monday/Wednesday from 6:30-9pm. You must be able to commit to teaching the entire 7 weeks.

If you are interested in helping and/or have further questions, please contact Pam Shirk at pshirk@maministries.org or 713-574-7540. Thank you!
