Clothe the needy: Bilingual Registrar for Christmas Adopt-A-Family program
ORGANIZATION: Coastside Hope
Please visit the new page to apply.
Each year, our Christmas Bureau Adopt-a-Family program provides gifts of new clothes, toys, food and other items to approximately 350 low-income families or seniors on fixed incomes.
During the 2016 Christmas season, the Adopt A Family served 352 low-income households totaling 1,171 people. This includes 99 seniors, 262 families, and 616 children. This wonderful program is entirely volunteer run and community funded.
We need Spanish-English bilingual volunteers to serve one 3-hour Saturday shift to interview and register local families in need. Registration will take place on October 7th, 21st, and 28th and November 4th. You may choose which day and whether you wish a morning or afternoon shift. All volunteers will be trained prior to working their shift. Training dates are flexible and will be set once you have signed up to volunteer. When interviewing families, you will take down information that includes names, ages, and clothing sizes of each family member. You will verify that they have appropriate documentation for each family member and income verification documents.
