Tax Preparer
Date: February 2017* - April 2017, Every other Thursday from 12:00pm - 4:00pm
Location: The Salvation Army Social Services, 1215 Fulton Street East, Grand Rapids
Description: Tax Preparer volunteers will attend 2 all day training sessions in *December 2016 or January 2017 learning tax law and TaxWise software classes and must receive a passing score on the IRS Certification Exam. Once volunteers have been trained, they will volunteer to assist low to moderate income wage earners to complete their tax returns. This program is run in partnership with the Kent County Tax Credit Coalition through the United Way.
Qualifications: Must be 18 years or older, pass a background check, and attend special training sessions provided (or have the ability to pass the IRS Certification Exam on your own).
