PLACEMENT PURPOSE
To provide a timely response to disaster incidents in the county and to ensure the mental health services needs of Red Cross clients and workers are addressed. The mission of Disaster Mental Health is to provide for and respond to the psychosocial needs
OPEN TIME DAYS
Two on-call shifts per month during which the individual is accessible by phone and willing to respond immediately to local disasters if called.⦆ On-call shifts are for a 12 hour period.
⦆
Limited Responders for Mental Health are only called to the scene if there are mental health needs created by the disaster.⦆ Often, Limited Responders for Mental Health can work with clients via phone and do not need to go directly to the scene of the disaster.
