We are currently seeking 2-3 individuals with prior teaching experience to teach our Pre-GED/GED classes. The staff will be responsible for teaching basic skills to students with varying academic levels while integrating GED skills, reading and math skills, social justice and community issues, and culture and help students meet necessary goals and qualify to get a GED. Staff will prepare students to take GED exam, instruct students on material needed in order to earn their GED, teach basic skills encompassing math, science, English, and literature, and help students prepare and study for GED exam. World Association for Community Empowerment (WACE) is a 501(c)(3) organization with a proud history of providing selfless services to all within our community. Founded in the winter of 2000 the organization has engaged in offering service of a unique nature aimed not only at bodily well-being but at the full spectrum of emotional, family, educational, vocational, social, mental, and spiritual needs of the people we serve. The organization has carried out her mission by providing food, clothing, job referrals and placements and educational and recreational assistance to needed families on the North Shore of Staten Island.
