Plate Pals are dining companions, giving one hour a week, to help patients during meal time at Schneck Medical Center. Duties include assisting patients with hand washing, opening containers, ensuring food items are within reach while engaging patients in conversations. This distraction, away from the patient's current health issues, is just what the doctor ordered!
Plate Pals program runs Monday through Friday with volunteers being needed for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Interested individuals must have a background check which is covered by Schneck Medical Center. A free one time four hour training session will be required of all volunteers.
Please contact Amy Cockerham, Schneck Volunteer Manager, at 812.522.0439 for more information on this volunteer opportunity.
