We are looking for motivated individuals to become volunteers for our after school programs! We need help on weekdays from 3:00-5:30 pm. We ask our volunteers to commit to volunteering a minimum of 1 hour once a week for 4 months.
You will:
- Work 1:1 with struggling K-2nd graders to build their academic confidence
- Play provided literacy games and activities with your tuttees
- Join the whole class for special projects
We provide a comprehensive training & orientation for you.

Description
Because 3rd grade reading ability is such a strong predictor of high school graduation rates, Super Stars Literacy partners with schools in low-income communities to provide at-risk K-2nd grade students with comprehensive literacy intervention programming, helping them build the literacy and social skills that are the foundation for future learning. The SSL program consists of 1) daily after-school literacy and social-emotional skill developmet, 2) in-school reading support coordinated with the students' school-day teachers, and 3) family engagement activities designed to help parents support their child's reading development and connect families to the school.
