Gems of Hope Inc. is a nonprofit organization that offers gifts mounted on inspirational cards to cancer patients. The patients are invited, along with family and friends, to attend workshops to create these works of art for others Join in one of our many workshops that are regularly scheduled, check out www.gemsofhope.com for more info. We also have many in office volunteer opportunities available weekdays between 9am-4pm.
Currently we are in need of workshop facilitators. Facilitators are responsible for setting up the workshop, helping with instruction during the workshop, and making announcements and having workshop attendees sign in. Facilitators are also responsible for picking up after the workshop, returning the product made in the workshop to the Gems of Hope office, and replenishing the supplies used in the workshop. Mission Statement
Gems of Hope is a nonprofit offering support to local cancer patients receiving treatment. Nearly 700 Gifts of Hope (hand-crafted inspirational cards with a choice of serenity circles or stones, earrings or bookmarks) are offered to patients treated in The Corridor's oncology centers and hospitals each month. Gems of Hope offers community workshops where cancer patients, friends and families come together to create these Gifts of Hope. Local youth camps, school library programming and scholarships are also made available for families affected by cancer. Gems of Hope promotes what medical research now supports: developing ones' spirituality can encourage feelings of optimism and hope and, thus, healing. Gems of Hope was founded to share hope with others.
