Following lemurs is daily work for our volunteers

We are looking for dedicated volunteers to help us monitor our beautiful beachfront lemur reserve in Madagascar, living at the reserve for a minimum of two weeks up to a maximum of 70 days. Your busy daily schedule will include a mixture of activities including biodiversity monitoring, trail making, planting trees, tending the nursery, tending the vegetable gardens and fruit trees, and daily work monitoring our lemurs, to aid in habituation, and collecting range data. By visiting and following our the lemurs every day in their habitat, they learn that humans pose no threat, and they do not flee. During this activity, we also collect location data to help us keep an eye on the range of the lemurs. This is vital work in the lead-up to formal research activity, because it enables scientists to find and study the animals more easily. On occasions, our volunteers may also be assisting researchers to collect other data. You will be working directly with our amazing local English-speaking team, under the remote supervision of the Director of the reserve. Full details of the program and the activities are available upon application but there is much more detail on our website.
