Position Title: Senior Arts and Crafts Volunteer

Reports To: Divisional Volunteer Center

Purpose/Goal of Position: To develop arts and crafts activities for seniors in the community, especially those living in the Silvercrest building near the Centre City Corps. Create fun and interesting arts and crafts activities, and get seniors involved and interested in participating.

Qualifications/Skills/Certifications Needed:

1. Prior experience in group instruction or teaching preferred

2. Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse staff and participants

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Prepare activities for each scheduled session, based on student needs

2. Promote activities to seniors in the community and in the Silvercrest residence

3. Responsible for overall set up and clean up of activities

4. Supervise activities for seniors, at all times following The Salvation Army's safety policies for working with elder-dependent adults. Our first priority is their safety.

Duration: 1-2pm on Mondays for 3-6 months
