Due to the growing number of hospice patients in BARTOW, FLOYD, POLK and PAULDING counties we are in need of volunteers. Our volunteers, as well as our Care Team staff, are exceptional and top of the line!
Our volunteers and staff provide expert, compassionate and dignified care to our patients and their families. We are honored to have the privilege to care for them.
Volunteer training is free and we are flexible with your time. Our needs are volunteers that can make visits for companionship with our patients and/or their caregivers. College students are welcome! We will work around your busy schedule.
We need your talents, whether it is giving time, sewing, making phone calls, playing music, singing for a patient or in nursing homes, providing pet therapy (must be certified) or doing light office work. We have something for everyone!

Description
The goal of Amedisys Hospice Volunteers is to promote quality of life by being supportive to the patients, family members and caregivers to provide one or more of these comforts: Friendly supportive visits to the patient's place of residence, companionship, reading or writing letters with the patient, playing music or singing, craft projects with patients/caregivers, a smile, providing patient companionship while the caregiver runs errands, sewing projects, companionship of office work making phone calls and clerical-type work. You choose! Hospice affirms life and views death as a natural process. Hospice exists to support and care for persons in their last stages of incurable illness, helping them live as fully and comfortably as possible. Amedisys volunteers are a part of the patient's support and care team.
