Space Day
Space Day at the National Air and Space Museum

Space Days is a Museum - wide, educational events on themes related to space exploration. It is an annual favorite at the National Air and Space Museum where visitors enjoy STEM-inspired hands-on activities, meet an astronaut, and learn about space from experts from the Museum and NASA. All of the activities take place amid the awe-inspiring collection of historic aviation and space artifacts in the Museum in Washington, DC.

Family Day volunteers help by staffing activity stations. Our activities are designed to reinforce the say’s theme and help visitors explore Museum’s collection. Volunteers assist visitors in activities that range from arts and crafts to more complex STEM related activity. For example, volunteers help making Astronaut Mission Patches, or turning recyclables into rockets, , and starting small science experiments. Our goal is to spark interest in lifelong learning about aviation and space exploration topics.
