Overlook Hospice Volunteer

Share the gift of music with hospice patients.

Music is the language of the heart and basic to the human experience. Comforting and inspiring at the end of life. It is also a poignant reminder of life’s ordinary and not so ordinary events.

If you are a musician or singer who feels drawn to celebrating the lives of hospice patients, Overlook Hospice could use your services.

We are looking for everything from contemplative, spiritual and religious music to contemporary and old favorites from the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.

Our volunteers visit patients in their homes and in nursing homes in Worcester and surrounding towns.

When responding please include your phone number.

Mission Statement

Setting the Standard of Excellence One Individual at a Time!

Description

Hospice care is considered to be the model for quality and compassionate care for people facing a terminal illness. At the center of hospice care is the belief that each of us has the right to die pain-free, with dignity and the comfort of knowing our families will receive the necessary support to allow us to do so.

Overlook Hospice Services provides a program of care to meet the needs of individuals, and their caregivers, nearing the end of life’s journey. Skilled professionals and dedicated volunteers help support both the patient and their families. Hospice Services helps relieve the physical, emotional, and social pain, which enables the seriously ill person to life at home with family, comfort and dignity. The support provides help to cope with the circumstances associated with a terminal illness

Hospice care is a philosophy of care that accepts dying as a natural part of life. When death is inevitable, hospice seeks neither to hasten nor postpone it.
