Just once a week for 2 hours is all it takes to make a big difference!
11am-1pm Monday, Friday
Volunteers of America provides meals to adults ages 60 and older at dining sites in Larimer County through our Smiling Spoon Lunch program. Diners come to socialize and enjoy a warm, nutritious meal. We rely on volunteers to make the programs happen. Small teams of volunteers at each site help to check in the diners, take reservations for future meals, set up, serve the meals and clean up afterwards. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to meet and get to know the diners - and you will see how crucial this service is to helping them stay active and independent! Volunteers can also enjoy a free, nutritious meal along with the diners.
Volunteers are trained and receive ongoing support from Volunteers of America. You will receive an orientation and training on proper VOA protocol for the meal service. No food service experience required. Bring your positive attitude and good customer service skills, and we will train you on the rest!
