The American Cancer Society (ACS) is looking for volunteers in your area to help cancer patients through their cancer journeys:

Cancer Resource Center (CRC):

Volunteers meet with patients in an outpatient setting and provide them with information on ACS free programs including transportation, lodging wigs, etc. They also provide cancer information and at times just keep patients company while they are there. This opportunity is available at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Training is provided.

Reach to Recovery:

This program connects breast cancer patients with a breast cancer survivor. It is a visit by phone or in person where they are linked with someone around the same age, type of treatment, etc. Breast cancer survivors are needed to provide this support. Training is provided.

Road to Recovery:

Volunteer drivers pick patients up from home, bring them to their appointments and back. Patients are required to give five day notice and drivers are not required to take every ride asked of them. Drivers use their own vehicles and current license, registration, insurance and a clean background check is required. Training is provided.

These services are incredibly important to cancer patients and their families and they are provided through the generous service of volunteers. Please contact if you are interested.
