About Chase After a Cure:

Chase After a Cure is a Non-Profit Corporation dedicated to children’s cancer research. We raise awareness for children’s cancer and provide funding for research labs that specialize in children’s cancer research. Our main focus for research is the more aggressive and deadly cancer called neuroblastoma.

Position Summary:

The Social Media Coordinator will assist in the management of social media brand accounts and engage with online audiences to support and promote organizational objectives on social channels. Responsibilities will include:

- social media campaigns, day-to-day activities, online advocacy, community-outreach efforts, promotions, etc.

- becoming an advocate of the organization in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate.

Position Responsibilities:

Engage:

- Collaborate with CAAC team to stay proactive of key issues and ensure consistent branding, messaging and responses when answering members on social networks, blog, private messages and email.

- Mobilize the user to provide feedback and responses to conversations on social media and through online communities.

Monitor:

- Listen and watch all conversations online about organizational brand. As appropriate, participate in conversations that surround our content and brand.

- Monitor digital properties and ensure consistency and integration.

Content:

- Work with CAAC team to collect original and user-generated content and write posts consistent with organizational brand and messaging.

- Post content on relevant digital properties (videos for YouTube, photos for Facebook, Twitter, blog, etc.).

- Promote online communities through blogs and social media sites.

Position Qualifications:

- Excellent written communication skills

- Exceptional attention to detail

- Knowledge and expertise in social media/ marketing

- Interest in non-profit organizations

- Self-motivated team player

- Marketing, Communications or English majors preferred

Description

CAAC was established in 2009 and received its 501(c)(3) status in 2010 by a mother whose son, Chase, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer called Neuroblastoma. Neuroblastoma is a rare and deadly cancer that affects approximately 750 children a year. It is rare, but the most common solid tumor cancer diagnosed in infants (less than 2 years old) and the third most common cancer in children under the age of 5. The survival rate for children diagnosed with high risk Neuroblastoma is less than 30%.
