You can work on a large-scale team-based project over several months, tackle more bite-sized challenges that can be delivered in a day, or address needs that fall in between. Our Configuration Specialist is a technical expert in Salesforce, responsible for designing and setting up a database that meets a nonprofit’s established business needs and improves management of its donor and constituent tracking. They work closely in a team to design and configure a database within the capabilities of the platform in an iterative development process that accommodates client feedback. They help in understanding the technical needs of the nonprofit, setting up the database in a way that data can be migrated and tested successfully; they also lead the Salesforce training of the nonprofit personnel. In shorter-term engagements, a configuration specialist may simply advise a nonprofit on its existing use of Salesforce.
A successful Salesforce Configuration Specialist has:
- 3 years hands-on Salesforce practice as a developer, consultant or admin in Salesforce Enterprise or Unlimited Edition that includes:
- Database design
- Installing Salesforce and modifying objects
- Setting-up custom reports and dashboards
- An understanding of capabilities and limitations of the software
Nice to haves:
- Salesforce certification
- Experience with managed packages of the Salesforce Nonprofit Starter Pack
- Apex familiarity
