Do you have a sociable dog? Would you like to be a positive influence in your community?
PAWS for Service trains, certifies and places therapy dog teams in the greater San Antonio area. PAWS members and their dogs volunteer their time to encourage, support and comfort people in hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, veteran installations and schools for children at risk.
Each month over 100 teams make over 300 visits to spread doggie joy with children and adults whose acitivities and interactions are limited due to health or other reasons.
PAWS for Service has been in existence for over 20 years! We are recognized by the AKC and also affiliated with the R.E.A. D. Program (whose mission it is to improve the literacy skills of children using therapy dogs as mentors.
Our next class starts at the end of January 2020. We will be taking applications through the first week of January. Please visit us at www.PAWSforService.org and fill out an application if interested. You will receive information on classes by return email.

Our purpose is to visit children and adults in hospitals, nursing homes and other facilities in the San Antonio area. Visitation teams are made up of members and their dogs that volunteer their time to encourage and support people whose activities and interactions are limited because of health or other reasons.
