We are in need of volunteers to help us prepare the North Family historic site for the summer season. On Wednesday June 1, 2016, from 9AM to 1PM, join us for a work day at Mount Lebanon. We will focus on cleaning up the North Family’s building interiors - cleaning, brush and waste removal, and more - starting at 9AM that morning. Participants are asked to wear appropriate clothes and to bring tools and gear such as gloves, yard tools, and boots. If you can, bring cleaning tools, gas-powered weedwhackers (string or blade). Also useful: garden carts, shop vacs, brooms and mops, and contractor's cleanup bags. Coffee and pastries from Blueberry Hill Café in New Lebanon will be offered. We are planning to work until 1PM, and welcome all to join us for any length of time.
Volunteers are needed to assist with various facets of the Shaker Museum|Mount Lebanon. Whether it be staffing events, acting as security for historic buildings, assisting with mailings and promotion, archival work, cleaning and landscaping - there's always work that can be done towards helping to preserve the Mount Lebanon Shaker Village National Historic Landmark. Please send us an email at contact@shakerml.org to let us know how you'd like to help, and we'll be in touch.
