Military Veterans needed for companionship for fellow Veterans

Let us remember the service of our veterans, and let us renew our national promise to fulfill our sacred obligations to our veterans and their families who sacrificed so much so that we can live fee. ~Dan Lapinski

Veterans are needed in the Princeton, Milaca, Zimmerman, Elk River, Big Lake, Becker area to visit with our hospice patients who are veterans. The We Honor Veterans program honors people for their service and creates opportunities to share experiences. Vet to Vet volunteers may assist with:

  • Pinning ceremonies
  • Provide companionship
Visits are typically 1-4 hours, every 1-2 weeks. Choose assignments based on your geographic preference.

You do not need medical training. You just need a desire to help.

Description

When life expectancy is limited, Accentcare Fairview Hospice staff and volunteers will help patients and caregivers focus on improving the quality of their remaining days. Hospice provides medical, emotional, social and spiritual care. We bring these services to the familiar setting of patient's own homes whenever possible. The same kind of care may also be given at a long-term care site, a group home, an assisted living site or a residential hospice.
