The mission of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) is to save lives by fighting tirelessly to prevent and cure ovarian cancer, and to improve the quality of life for survivors.
The NYC Chapter, which was founded in March of this year, serves the Greater NY Area. We are seeking volunteers to raise awareness of ovarian cancer here in the NYC area and provide education, support and hope to women with ovarian cancer and their families. We are seeking energetic, passionate, team-oriented individuals with an interest in our mission to help us as we start up all the activities of the NYC Chapter.
We will be holding our first Chapter Meeting on Weds. July 23rd at 6 PM at our NYC offices and are inviting interested volunteers to join us.

Mission Statement
To fight tirelessly to prevent and cure ovarian cancer and to improve the quality of life for survivors and caregivers
Description
The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness, promoting education, and supporting ovarian cancer survivors and caregivers across the country. Since 1991, we have been educating communities from coast to coast about ovarian cancer and supporting survivors and caregivers of ovarian cancer.
For more than 31 years, the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) has been at the forefront of ovarian cancer advocacy, providing critical support and resources to those affected by this devastating disease. With a regional approach covering the entire United States, we strive to ensure that anyone diagnosed with ovarian cancer has the programs, tools, and resources to survive and thrive. We are here for survivors and caregivers, reducing barriers to care and providing support regardless of their status or other identities.
Ovarian cancer as a disease may know no bounds, but credible disease information, programs, and resources do. Patients report difficulties in finding understandable information, and many experience significant barriers to diagnosis, treatment, and quality of life with an ovarian cancer diagnosis. The stress and anxiety related to these disparities can lead to poor health outcomes, and with nearly 80% of patients diagnosed in later stages due to a lack of an effective early detection test, more needs to be done to reduce barriers to care.
