Drop-in center volunteers help plan and facilitate activities and programming for LGBTQ youth across a 7 county area in north central IL, including drop-in centers specific to the needs of trans and gender expansive youth. Volunteers may also assist in community education/networking and supporting the youth leadership and HIV prevention programs. Volunteers with appropriate skills and interests may choose to work with the parent group.
In person drop in centers operate weekly in Naperville, DeKalb, Palatine, Ottawa, Sterling, Elmhurst, and Downers Grove, with new sites opening in Joliet/Lockport and Plainfield during 2022. All sites run weekly on their designated day. We have two virtual drop-in centers, with a third launching in 2022. New volunteers are sought for all locations and the virtual groups.
