There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes to keep the clinic up and running. Capacity volunteers help us increase the scope and impact of our services. Though our clinic is located downtown, these are all volunteer positions that you can help with remotely.

  • Salesforce expertise: help us utilize and maintain our new Salesforce database
    • Keeping orderly donor records allows us to do in depth reporting and build better relationships with supporters
  • Financial/Accounting expertise: help us with basic bookkeeping
  • Fundraisers : help us plan and coordinate fundraising events and donation requests
    • Annual gala includes a blind wine tasting, live entertainment, silent auction, and live auction

Mission Statement

The Kansas City Free Eye Clinic serves people in need of vision care and provides the tools they need to thrive.

Description

Founded in 2008, The Kansas City Free Eye Clinic provides accessible eye care to Kansas City’s homeless and low income. The first of its kind locally, the Eye Clinic is a nexus between concerned eye care professionals, healthcare students, and patients in the community.

Through comprehensive eye exams and glasses KCFEC saves sight and improves lives. Clear vision is an essential yet often overlooked aspect of health that would otherwise be out of reach for our patients. Each year we provide life changing eye care to over 500 patients and rely on over 50 volunteers.
