Description: We need volunteers with an interest in helping us promote our mission in our community and local events and act as an ambassador to other local bicycle grassroots organizations.
Outreach Coordinators can help us recruit new volunteers, advertise our services, and act as a liaison for sister bicycle cooperatives and local Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committees. If you enjoy coordinating outreach activities and enjoy working with others, please inquire firer about our outreach and marketing coordinator needs!
What We Do:
Our mission is to educate, encourage, and empower a vibrant and inclusive cycling community through learning. We provide a non-profit, volunteer-run, educational do-it-yourself workshop offering training, rides, and events to empower all levels of cyclists in building, maintaining, and embracing the fun of bicycles.

Youth programs
Community outreach programs
Training classes in bicycle maintenance
Open Shop hours for do-it-yourself bike maintenance repair, supported by experienced volunteers
Same day bicycle maintenance services (scheduled; during weekdays only)
Used bicycle recycling
Community bike rides and social events

Suggested donations
$10 per hour for use of tools and shop supplies during Open Shop hours
$10 per hour for training classes
Approximately $5 for most used parts
We welcome your donations of bicycles, bicycle parts, and tools.

Diversity: Foster diversity within the cycling community. Education: Expand the availability of quality cycling education within the community. Recreation: Promote cycling as a healthy and enjoyable activity. We provide a non-profit, volunteer-run, educational do-it-yourself workshop offering training, rides, and events to empower all levels of cyclists in building, maintaining, and embracing the fun of bicycles. As a local non-profit organization, we rely strictly on volunteers and funding from private individuals and organizations. Although we primarily work with recycled materials, we do spend money on consumables with include things like bicycles tubes, cables, and brake pads. We encourage monetary donations from all that use the shop.
Description
No experience is required to volunteer with Velocity. We have experienced volunteers to teach you everything you'd like to know about bicycles and community organizing. Come on down, make new friends, mess with bikes!
