Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats has a special volunteer opportunity for high school students on our TNR (Trap-Neuter-Release) team.
The program is designed to help high school students earn community service hours all while assisting a grass-roots organization dedicated to helping homeless and feral street cats and kittens!
Students will help with a variety of projects and tasks that help us do the work we do. Students will help us clean, sweep, clean kennels, and organize outside areas but as a reward, students will always have plenty of time to interact with kittens!
Kitty Cadet is open only to high school students. Students interested in volunteering must be willing to COMMIT TO VOLUNTEER FOR 2 HOURS EACH WEEK FOR A MINIMUM OF 6 MONTHS. Additionally, students must be available to volunteer on either Mondays (4:30-6:30), Fridays (4:30-6:30) or Sundays (10:00-12:00).
At least one parent/guardian must accompany each student to this orientation. During weekly volunteer sessions, parents/guardians are not required to accompany students.
Spanish only? No problem! The orientation will be bilingual :)
If you have any questions, please email Alma at Alma@kittybungalow.org.TNR is a humane way of trapping feral cats and stabilizing the homeless cat population. You can read a little more about it on our website www.kittybungalow.org
And a fun perk of this role is that, after each shift, you can spend some cuddle time with the kittens in the Bungalow!
About Kitty Bungalow:Charm School For Wayward Cats
2032 W Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Los Angeles,, CA 90062, US
To reduce the feline overpopulation problem in South Los Angeles through the proven Trap-Neuter-Return program coupled with the socialization and adoption of the felines we catch who are eligible for Charm School.
We are dedicated to the rescue, socialization and rehoming of street cats in South LA. Our goal is to ramp up the Trap, Neuter, Return programs in that area and try and nip the inevitable cat explosion in the bud. If we don't do something and get people involved, the 8000 cats that will go unfixed this year will become 60,000 within the next 18 months. That is a lot of cats...
We'll work with your schedule.
