Family & Children’s Agency is seeking a volunteer to offer clerical assistance for our Korea Adoption Program in Branford, which includes filing, copying and scanning documents. This position is 8 - 10 hours per week on weekdays between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (very flexible) Volunteers should have prior experience working in an office setting. Ideal candidate will be competent working with computers, have great customer service,and have the ability to use office equipment (phone, copy/fax).

Last year more than 10,000 individuals of all ages and all walks of life experienced life-altering, positive changes as a result of their work with Family & Children’s Agency.

Program Information
Since Family & Children’s Agency began its Korean Adoption Program in 1982, it has placed over 2,000 children in American homes. The adjustment of these children to their families has been outstanding.

The Agency’s work in Korea is anchored by a collaborative relationship with Social Welfare Society, (SWS) Inc., one of four private child placement agencies in Korea. SWS’s professionalism and the social work process ensure that infants are nurtured in private foster care and receive regular medical attention of the highest quality. We have found that SWS gives exceptional care to the Korean birth mothers and infants. Our Adoption Program staff visit Korean foster and baby reception homes affiliated with our programs on a regular basis.

Requirements
To become a volunteer with Family & Children’s Agency, volunteers must complete an application and necessary background checks, including criminal, state, and Department of Children and Families checks.

Volunteers must also complete an agency orientation with Volunteer Services and a program orientation with their supervisor.

Skills Needed:

  • Desire to work in an administrative capacity
  • General knowledge of office setting including filing, computers, phones, etc.
  • Dependability and consistency
  • Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries
  • Clean background check
