Achieve Now (http://www.achieve-now.com/) i s a Philadelphia-based social justice organization that sees literacy as a mechanism to effect social change. Our mission is to provide K-2 schoolchildren in Greater Philadelphia with high-quality, culturally competent literacy instruction. Our vision is to produce strong, confident, effective, and joyful readers who see reading as an integral part of their lives and are life-long learners.

Would you be willing to give an hour each week to help a child improve their reading skills? Achieve Now, a Philadelphia-based literacy non-profit, is recruiting volunteer coaches for our remote, one-to-one tutoring program that provides reading support for students in first and second grade.

Volunteer coaches work with the same student once a week, at the same day and time each week, until late May. Once paired with a student, you will guide them through scripted lessons calibrated to where the student is in their reading journey.

Each hour-long coaching session is supported by an Achieve Now literacy instructor. Achieve Now’s one-to-one model is 100% virtual, so you can provide a child with meaningful mentorship and impactful instruction from the comfort of your office or home!

You can make a huge impact! Students in our program last year gained six times the expected national benchmark in key reading skills.
