Being a Navigator for the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) means helping families acquire access to affordable healthcare through the Marketplace. By being an unbiased knowledgable guide, you allow people to make their own decisions. You educate them on how health insurance is used, the differences between the policies and what financial subsidies are available to them. Good computer skills are required. The Council on Aging of Buncombe County is a Navigator Agency for Buncombe, Burke, Avery, Henderson, Polk, Rutherford, Transylvania, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell and Yancey Counties. We need Navigator volunteers in all 11 counties.
