New Moon Farm Sanctuary is currently seeking regular, weekly team members for shifts on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We require volunteers to commit to a 2 hour shift, once a week for at least 6 months. Hours are flexible. After an initial orientation session, volunteers work independently on the farm. The shift tasks include basic chores such as cleaning the barns and pastures and scrubbing water tubs and of course, hanging with the animals!

About New Moon Farm Sanctuary

Mission Statement

New Moon Farm Sanctuary is dedicated to the rescue and long-term care of unwanted, neglected or abused farm animals in need. In addition to working with local animal control agencies, we take in farm animals in extreme situations on a case-by-case basis. We also care for a permanent herd of rescued animals. New Moon Farm is committed to promoting compassion and respect for all living creatures through a presence in the community and by offering educational opportunities.

Description

Since taking in our first goat, Ziggy, in 1999, we have taken in, rehabilitated and placed over 1750 animals in loving homes. New Moon Farm Sanctuary is run completely by volunteers - we have no paid administrators or staff. 100% of the contributions received goes directly to caring for the animals. Our on-site volunteers tend to stick around for years, enjoying the peaceful energy of the land and companionship of the animals as they work to support the sanctuary.

Beyond caring for our resident herd, many with special needs, we take in senior and special needs goats when we are able. Our current herd includes goats, sheep, donkeys, horses, cats and a fabulous dog. Our goal is to advocate for the non-human animals - promoting the belief that all are feeling, intelligent beings who deserve to live a happy life, and educate people about the joys of compassionate living.
