Like to drive? We have opportunities to transport birds in North and South Carolina to and from the Rescue in Indian Trail, NC. Transports include picking up injured birds and bringing them to the Rescue; transporting birds to other Rescue groups in North and South Carolina; transporting birds to vet appointments; transporting adopted birds to their new homes; and transporting wild birds to their release sites. Some transports can be done with a small car, others require an SUV or van type vehicle, or truck with or without trailer. If you enjoy animals and want to help without having a regular schedule, join our Transport list and respond to those needs as you can. You must be at least 18, have a drivers license, your own vehicle, and be dependable.

Mission Statement

A. To provide a wild animal facility for the rescue, treatment, and release of sick, injured, and orphaned native wildlife and other waterfowl; B. To educate the public about and to promote understanding of the local wildlife and their habitats; C. To increase awareness of and appreciation for the value of wildlife and the environment, and to protect these natural resources. D. To promote the highest standards in all activities of the wildlife rehabilitator profession; E. To promote networking, communication, and cooperation among rehabilitators, wildlife organizations, and facilities on local, statewide, and national levels.

Description

Carolina Waterfowl Rescue is run by federally licensed migratory bird rehabilitators specializing in waterfowl and wading birds. We are licensed for all birds but due to time and financial constraints can only accept certain types of birds. We have opportunities for volunteers to work with a variety of species. CWR is an all-volunteer organization.
