About

Fundraising Committee The Fundraising Committee's job is not simply to raise money. Instead, the Fundraising Committee is responsible for overseeing the organization's overall fundraising and, in particular, the fundraising done by the board.

To lead the board in efforts that attract money and services needed to carry out the mission of the organization.

To work with chair to establish fundraising for our annual special events.

To work with fundraising & sponsorship chair in their efforts to raise money for workshops.

To take the lead in certain types of outreach efforts, such as chairing a dinner/special event committee or hosting fundraising parties, etc.

To members make telephone calls to ask for support, contacting local businesses etc.

To monitor fundraising efforts to be sure that ethical practices are in place, that donors are acknowledged appropriately, and that fundraising efforts are cost-effective.

Deposit collected money received from vendors, donors and sponsors events in the Kindah bank account.

Work with Program and Gala/Sponsorship Committees in collecting all money /processing payments at events by supporting the registration area at events.

Make inbound and outbound calls, send and receive fax, send and receive emails.

Attend committee meetings.

Help Treasurer/Finance Chair with other assigned duties.

Raising awareness of the charity and its work at local and national levels, e.g. by giving talks to groups or seeking photo opportunities with the media.

Developing and coordinating web-based fundraising, online auctions and merchandise sales;

increasing funds by researching and targeting charitable trusts whose criteria match the charity's aims and activities.

Contribute financial support and encourage others to do so.

Educate the full board on the techniques of planned giving, marketing, seeking grants, and soliciting corporations and individuals.

To monitor fundraising efforts to be sure ethical practices are in place, donors are acknowledged appropriately, and fundraising efforts are cost effective.

Term of Office

  • One (1) Year


Time Commitment

  • 5-10 hours per month
  • Highly encouraged to attend all events
  • Attend all meetings & conferences
