Do you want to share your creativity and love of writing with children? Love time traveling, wearing lab coats, and generally being silly? Spells Writing Lab summer camp mentors help plan and deliver irreverent-yet-educational activities that spur kids' creativity while building their writing literacy. We're seeking enthusiastic volunteers who want to share their love of writing and mentor our young writers.

Mission Statement
Spells Writing Lab is a Philadelphia-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that develops the creative and expository writing abilities of school-age children through free, fun, and imaginative writing programs and teacher development opportunities.
Description
Spells Writing Lab is a non-profit organization that aims to shape Philadelphia students into successful writers and learners through unconventional writing programs that often incorporate new media, STEAM education, or other artistic disciplines.
At Spells, we believe that literacy is a cornerstone for future success, and that personalized attention and unconventional learning opportunities can inspire students to greater triumphs, both in the classroom and in life. To further these ends, we offer classroom writing programs to local public, charter, and independent schools; occasional weekend workshops; and a six-week summer writing camp.
