"My ray of hope was my Advocate. She listened to me without judgement. My Advocate spoke up for me in court. As I was transferred from foster home to foster home, I know she was just a phone call away if I needed her." Advocate Child

Did you know there are approximately 1,600 foster children in the Santa Clara County?

Child Advocates of Silicon Valley serves at-risk children in the foster care system by providing a trained, dedicated volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) to advocate in court for the child’s best interests.

By spending time with a child and getting to know him or her, you can become not only a role model and mentor, but also a trusted friend. CASAs attend dependency court hearings and provide reports and recommendations to the judge when life-changing decisions are being made.

The first step is to attend an orientation session which will include a thorough overview of the role and requirements of becoming a CASA to one of the nearly 200 children on our waiting list.

We are hosting an exciting orientation event happening on Wednesday, October 5th, 6:15 pm - 8:00 p.m.

The event will take place the Sobrato Center on 1400 Parkmoor Ave, San Jose 95126. Please RSVP with me at amalia@cadvocates.org if you would like to attend.

You can have a huge impact on the life of a foster child.

"I will not let foster care statistics define me. I want a better life." -Donna, foster youth
