ORGANIZATION: International Rescue Committee in San Diego

The International Rescue Committee in San Diego runs several youth programs, including after school tutoring for high school students. Many of these students are refugees and attend Crawford High School & Hoover High School. One-on-one and small group tutoring from volunteers helps prepare them for success in school!

Times Needed:

  • Crawford High School:
    • M, T, Th, F - 2:15-5 PM
    • W - 12:45-3:30 PM
  • Hoover High School:
    • M, F - 2:30 -5 PM
    • W - 1:30-4 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Assist high school students with homework completion.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with youth (ages 13-18) in High school; Experience tutoring or working in an academic setting; Experience working in a diverse, multi-cultural setting; Experience working with refugees or English Language Learners.
  • Subject knowledge in math, science, english literature, college prep, reading/writing
