This listing is for individuals who are passionate about fair trade and looking for an ongoing volunteer opportunity. If you are interested in supporting our artisans through telling their stories and selling their products, this is a wonderful way to broaden your worldview, gain an understanding of the role of fair trade, and represent our artisans in 47 countries.

We are seeking volunteers able to commit to at least 8 hours per month for a minimum of 6 months. This position also presents a unique opportunity to gain experience for those looking to build their Retail Sales & Customer Service resume.

Ten Thousand Villages is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit retailer selling fairly traded handicrafts from around the world. We create opportunities for artisans in developing countries to earn income by bringing their products and stories to our markets through long-term, fair trading relationships.

Requirements:

-18 years or older

-Completion of an interview and reference/background check

-Attendance of our Volunteer Open House, and successful completion of orientation and training

-Scheduling is flexible within our store hours of 11 am to 6 pm.

-Computer skills and ability to learn our catalog and register systems
