As a mentor you will help students (grades 3rd-5th) with their homework, play games, and have conversations that can change their lives. Our programs are located in the Fort Worth area. Program times are Mon-Thurs. 3:00-6:00pm (times are flexible).

LNFI is a Christian non-profit that operates in the Fort Worth area through after-school programs. At each school, we will be serving around 60 children. The students will break up into groups of about 15-18 kids (3rd-5th graders). There is always a Specialist leading the activities for each group. Mentors will either be matched with a specific student, or work with the same group of children.

On Tuesdays-Thursdays, the students will work on homework, have a fun hands-on academic lesson (Science/Social Studies, Reading, Math), and an extracurricular activity (art, sports, etc.). On Mondays, the kids will follow the same schedule, but instead of an academic lesson, the students will have an in-depth Character Lesson. The character lessons are based off of biblical truths and incorporate Bible verses.

So many of our kids come from difficult home lives and this is 3 hours where they are safe, loved, and hopefully having a lot of fun! Please consider becoming a mentor and changing a child's life.

Mentors must be 16 years or older.

Mission Statement

Love Never Fails International is a non-profit organization that exists to glorify God by providing "a hand up, not a hand out," to at-risk and impoverished children through positive, caring relationships and educational support.

Description

For the past nine years, LNFI has been changing the lives of under-resourced children in the Fort Worth area. We are seeking to break the cycle of poverty by providing these children and their families with a hand up in life. Every day the children come to LNFI, they find love, encouragement, and direction.

At LNFI, we believe it is through building relationships with children that they are given a "hand up, not a hand out" and their hearts are changed. Our after school and mentoring programs follow this idea, with the focus being placed on building relationships with these hurting children. After children feel secure and emotionally supported through healthy relationships with positive adult mentors, they begin to change. They begin to exceed expectations socially as well as academically. Studies show that students who are mentored regularly have better attendance, a better chance of going on to higher education, a better attitude toward school, and are less likely to use drugs, skip school, or hit someone. We have many inspiring stories of children transforming from secluded, angry students to motivated, positive leaders in their classrooms.

At LNFI, we also provide as many unique learning opportunities for the children as possible. When children are exposed to more learning opportunities and life experiences and are taught powerful life lessons through these experiences, they are inspired and empowered to have a brighter future.

This year, our programs are operating solely in Fort Worth ISD in an effort to narrow our focus to areas where we feel our programs are most needed. Our programs operate Monday - Thursday from 3:00 - 6:00pm. Every day the children come to LNFI, they are greeted by their program directors and assistant directors, as well as loving volunteer mentors that help them with the various activities of the day. All activities at the program focus around building the student-mentor relationship, as well as teaching the children powerful skills about dealing with life’s problems and challenges. Structured activities at the program include Biblically based daily character lessons, hands-on academic enrichment activities, mentoring, homework assistance, student led service projects and an afternoon snack.
