ORGANIZATION: San Jose Clinic

San Jose Clinic is one of the oldest charity clinics in the United States. Individuals and families served at San Jose Clinic do not qualify for Medicare, Medicaid or county health services and cannot afford private or employer-based health insurance.

San Jose Clinic invites all physicians regardless of their specialty to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm and every 2nd Saturday of the month from 7:30 am to 2 pm.

Would you consider volunteering just a few hours a week or month depending on your specialty? Working alongside San Jose Clinic's staff, you will bring the Clinic closer to meeting the healthcare needs of our community. Minimum qualifications and requirements can be found here: https://www.sanjoseclinic.org/volunteer-opportunities

About San Jose Clinic

Location:

2615 Fannin St, Houston, TX 77002, US

Mission Statement

The mission of the San Jose Clinic is to provide healing through quality healthcare and education with respect and compassion for those with limited access to care.

Description

One of the oldest charity clinics in the United States, San Jos Clinic has provided healthcare to the uninsured since 1922. It is the only full-time clinic in the Greater Houston area dedicated exclusively to serving the uninsured. In this area, primary healthcare for the uninsured is grossly inadequate, and specialty care is almost non-existent. Because of the Clinic's extensive corps of volunteers and teaching affiliations, patients are able to access specialty services in addition to primary healthcare.
