Plymouth's senior building has a budding garden group! There is a group of 5-10 seniors who are interested in growing food and ornamentals in the building's rooftop garden space.
We are looking for someone, with gardening experience, who would be able to attend the garden club's meetings, and provide advice and inspiration for our tenants. We are hoping the garden volunteer could also help us maintain the rooftop garden space to makie sure the plants are healthy and happy.
Plymouth Housing Group transforms lives by providing permanent, supportive homes to formerly homeless people with few other options for housing. You would be helping us futher our mission by helping to create a welcoming and healing atmosphere in our rooftop garden and providing a fun activity for our tenants to participate in.
The garden meeting happen on Mondays at 1pm. The ideal volunteer would be able to attend at least two of these meetings a month and assist the residents for about an hour each time.

Mission Statement
Plymouth Housing works to eliminate homelessness and address its causes by preserving, developing and operating safe, quality, supportive housing and by providing homeless adults with opportunities to stabilize and improve their lives.
Description
Since 1980, Plymouth Housing Group has been providing homes to the most vulnerable homeless adults in our community--those struggling with differing abilities such as mental illness, HIV/AIDS, severe medical conditions, chemical dependency, and the effects of poverty and aging. Today, over 1,400 formerly homeless adults live in 17 Plymouth residential apartment buildings in the downtown Seattle area, Ballard, and the Eastside.
Plymouth subscribes to the "Housing First" philosophy, operating on the principle that people cannot improve their lives until they have a safe, stable place to live. At Plymouth, we work hard to lower the barriers to housing so that people who are shut out of housing due to addiction, poor rental history, poverty or a criminal record have an opportunity to succeed. Our model of permanent housing, coupled with wraparound supportive services, helps people rebuild their lives, regain their dignity, and leave homelessness behind forever.
