If you're busy but still want to do something for your community, this is the opportunity for you. Our meal routes are customizable for you, and only take about an hour a day for as many or as few days a month (or week!) you would like. You'd be delivering hot, fresh meals, frozen meals (for those days delivery is not possible), newspapers, and pet food. We have meal routes in Aiken, Gloverville, Jackson, North Augusta, and Wagener.
This is a great way to socialize and get to know new people in your community! It also allows these otherwise homebound seniors to get some social time too!
No additional volunteer opportunities at this time.
About Aiken Senior Life Services
PO BOX 3156, AIKEN, SC 29802, US
To provide health, wellness, nutrition, transportation, social and other services that enhance the quality of life, independence, dignity and aid in the prevention of critical acute care needs of those we serve.
Aiken Senior Life Services, (formerly The Aiken Area Council on Aging, Inc. [AACOA]) was organized in 1969 to become a "focal Point" for information, referral and counseling for older adults and their families. The AACOA received its charter as non-profit corporation from the South Carolina Secretary of State in 1971. In 1995 the Board of Directors amended the agency’s charter to add provision of transportation services to the general public.
In 2016, AACOA started doing business as Aiken Senior Life Services to better reflect its involvement and mission in the community.
The AACOA is the "Focal Point" for services for seniors and is a provider of coordinated transportation services to the public in Aiken County.
