Abbey Road Hospice is looking for volunteers in the Columbia, Lexington, West Columbia, Newberry, and Camden, SC areas!
We greatly appreciate dedicated volunteers to provide hands-on companionship, support, and assistance to patients and their families. Volunteering activities can be tailored according to the volunteer's experience and training and in compliance with organization policies.
Volunteers will serve as an integral member of the hospice interdisciplinary group amid various settings: home care, respite, inpatient. As well as creating meaningful relationships with the patient and the family, allowing all parties to reflect on life experiences.
A wide array of volunteer services are needed at Abbey Road Hospice, such as:
-companionship/ socialization
-arts/crafts and other activities
-knitting/ singing
-errands/housekeeping
-pet therapy
-in-office administrative work
-anything else that can be creatively incorporated to suit patients needs!
The Volunteer will almost certainly walk away with a rewarding experience as this opportunity is life changing.

All Abbey Road staff members are required to be involved in regular community service projects. This ensures that they are giving back to the community and will develop not only compassion for their patients but also a passion for their work.
