Federal Way Public Schools AmeriCorps members serve full time for 10.5 months. Members serve as tutors with students who are identified by teachers and counselors. They may tutor one-on-one or in small groups, support after school homework/study clubs, recruit volunteers, and develop and serve in service projects with students and community members. Members may serve in elementary, middle, or high schools. Federal Way Public Schools AmeriCorps members meet weekly to participate in ongoing training and community service projects throughout their service experience.

Federal Way AmeriCorps academic tutoring mission is to increase students’ academic achievement in Federal Way Public Schools by offering tutoring and mobilizing a corps of volunteer tutors.
Federal Way AmeriCorps civic leadership mission is to foster an ethic of service by implementing community projects that offer students and citizens an opportunity to volunteer.

The Federal Way Public Schools partners with the Washington Service Corps and AmeriCorps to provide tutoring services to the students in our district.
