The fourth Saturday in September, thousands of participants join together to combat stigma and fundraise for NAMI Minnesota during our annual NAMIWalks event. Over 200 volunteers are needed on WALK day to assist with event set-up, clean-up, activities, and logistics. Groups, individuals, and families are welcome! This year's walk is set for Sept. 23rd, 2023.

**We're looking for volunteers to help with clean-up after the conclusion of the event. To sign up for a clean-up volunteer position, please reach out to volunteer.resources@namimn.org!**

Mission Statement

NAMI Minnesota's mission is to champion justice, dignity, and respect for all people affected by mental illness. Through education, support, and advocacy we strive to eliminate the pervasive stigma of mental illness, effect positive changes in the mental health system, and increase the public and professional understanding of mental illness.

Description

NAMI Minnesota is a statewide grassroots organization dedicated to improving the lives of people living with mental illnesses and their families through educational programming, peer-led support, community outreach, and legislative advocacy.

All our programming is based on a peer-to-peer model, and we're always looking for individuals who have participated in our programs to join us as support group facilitators or help teach our curriculum. We are also regularly recruiting volunteers for our outreach and advocacy efforts, special events, and to help with various facets of non-profit administration.

Most NAMI program volunteers are trained and placed through the state office, and supported by their local affiliates, to fulfill their placements within their local communities.

NAMI also offers various unpaid internships in the fields of non-profit management and public policy.

NAMI does not offer direct services.
