Tutor/GED Classroom Assistant/ESL Classroom Assistant
Description: -Volunteers meet with students for one hour per week. -Report hours each month to the Volunteer Coordinator -Provide a good learning environment using respect, encouragement, and motivation -Provide guidance to students who are working to improve their skills. Call Platte Valley Literacy Association at 562-1471.
Requirements:You don't have to be a certified teacher! PVLA volunteers are assigned appropriate assignments according to skill, interest, availability, and training. Basic requirements include:
- a knowledge of basic reading, math, and/or language skills.
- the ability to tutor a minimum of one hour per week.
- a desire to help others.
